Dr. Mandy Cohen, former Secretary of North Carolina's Department of Health and Human services, is joining health tech company Aledade. She will now serve as the executive vice president and CEO of Aledade's new health service unit. Aledade focuses on teaming up with providers to build tech-enabled accountable care organizations. 

Cohen has worked in the public sector for more than 15 years. Her experience includes more than ten years at the federal level working for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Service (CMS). She served as Secretary of North Carolina's Department of Health and Human services for five years before stepping down from the role in November. 

"It is intentional and important that I will be both embedded in the core work of Aledade – making sure Aledade continues to strengthen its support to practices and reach across all payers and populations – as well as building the new care delivery work for the company. One of my initial priorities will be to lead Aledade’s work to support the large and growing number of patients enrolled in Medicaid programs that are served by Aledade practices and health centers," Cohen wrote in a blog announcing her new role. 

Chronic care management company Vida Health named Dr. Patrick Carroll is its next chief medical officer. Carroll previously served as CMO at fellow digital health company Hims & Hers. He has also held the CMO role at Walgreens and Integrated Care Partners. 

In his new role at Vida Health, he will lead a team of more than 1,000 providers.

Virtual care provider Hims & Hers named Uber vet Yemi Okupe as its next chief financial officer. Okupe comes to the company after a two year stint as divisional CFO at Uber. Okupe has experience at a number of tech companies, including PayPal, eBay and Google.

Cyber security software company Intraprise Health has named George Pappas as its next CEO. Before coming to Intraprise Health, Pappas served as chief customer officer and COO at DrFirst, and COO at Motionsoft.
